Case Study: Architectural Glass Installation for New Build
Owner: Aviation Performance Solutions, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport
Location: Mesa Gateway Airport, AZ 85212
General Contractor: Caliente Construction
Architect: Dekker/Perich/Sabatini
Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) built a new company headquarters at their 4.5-acre airfield facility at Mesa Gateway Airport.
APS provides customized pilot training, ingraining the time-critical counter-intuitive skills necessary to solve life-threatening airplane upsets. With the serious nature of APS’s mission in mind, the building project architects created a subtle, streamlined design that would inspire confidence.
True View installed floor-to-ceiling storefront glass with offset glazing on the exterior and a curtain wall with 1” insulated solarban 90 glass and clear anodized framing from Arcadia Framing Systems. We also installed fire 60 rated narrow profile steel frames from TGP Fire Rated Frames as part of the glass support structure.
The result is durable, energy-efficient windows with a neutral gray tint, providing a sophisticated, industrial, modern look. On the inside, the windows provide an excellent view of the airfield and sky with plenty of natural light.
